3/3/2023 0 Comments Vector w8 for sale![]() ![]() As he was an investor and at the time Jerry was unaware of his inside movement to take over Vector, Tommy offered to buy the car while it was in Singapore. Tommy Soeharto approached Jerry at the Singapore motor show. It has a rather unique place in Vector history as the car was caught up in the hostile take over by Megatech. My particular car was the Singapore Motorshow Show car. When I saw the one in that film mentioned above I remember thinking that I remembered them and was surprised that one had actually been finished off enough to drive. The US were seen as incapable of making a 'real' sports/hyper car i think, we had a mind set that suspension design in the US meant soft and wobbly. The three speed auto and US heritage didnt stand for much then against the italia exotica. The Uk (poss euro) press seemed to treat them with a bit of distaste. That's what a Vector should be.I think your bob on there, I never knew how complete these cars were. I think he needs to go back tot he drawing board, rediscover the radical game changing spirit of the original and come back with something really unique and jaw dropping. But the new ones visualised on the Vector website are a real disappointment. And while they still look amazing it's because it has an iconic look from that era that we all remember. Sounds like there was a lot more to them that appreciated. Visually they always looked amazing but were portrayed in the UK press as some sort of glued together kit car. It’s great to see and hear about the Vector. What a wonderful, wonderful thing, and good on you for sharing it on her. I couldn't give a toss whether it can hit 242 mph (but have no reasons to doubt why it could), much as I don't care that my car is very unlikely to get anywhere near it's speedo top speed (200mph). Did it really have a Heads Up display, or did I poach that from a misguided query from another forum member? I have always admired manufacturers who have looked outside the (automotive) box, and the aeronautical industry was surely the very first place to look. How do you think it feels to read these things about your pride and joy, let along a vehicle you were instrumental in the manufacture of.īut, OP, my oh my, if the car weren't good enough, your knowledgeable insight into these Unicorns, the engineering behind them, and the photos of the bare frame of the car especially, are verging on triumphant.Īm another Top Trumps fanboy (and that certainly explains my Pantera ownership!) and always day-dreamed about this mythical beast. One of the things I really hate about forums, and what would ultimately put me off ever putting one of my car's onto Reader's Cars. Gosh, it's such a shame when people don't put themselves behind the OP's screen. ![]()
